Eagle Wheels?

I have a chance to pick these wheels, 05 bumper and an 07 5in cat back exhaust for a CC LB truck up for 500 bucks. I really just want these wheels. I am not sure but they look kinda fogged up from these pictures they are eagle 16X8 would they work well with my Michelin LTX 285/75/16 wheels or would they be too wide and how do these things last compared to other wheels and what is the maintance required on them? Also I am not putting the bumper on my truck it is going to Scott. I am not sure if I will get the exhaust or not since I have made other arrangments for it.

285s are fine on a 8" wide wheel.
Those wheels appear to be in need of a serious polishing.

More like a buffing wheel on a die grinder with some polish if you want it to go quickly.

I tried the powerball....I wasn't impressed.

Back when I made/sold reservoir shock clamps out of 6061 aluminum I always used Blue Magic Metal Polish....worked very well. I used it on some Weld Wheels and I use it on my T-304 exhaust, works real nice.

Where do you get it at and did you do it by hand? I was temped by the powerball but I always wondered about it nothing ever works as shown. How much would it take to get those wheels polished back to factory standards. I heard eagles where known to rust.

The only reason I started this buy was to get Scott (crum71) the bumper which I can get for 250 bucks since he is getting his truck painted here soon that will not be a problem to get thing repainted (its red). The guy wants 300 for the wheels, 250 for the bumper and 150 for the Diamond Eye aluiminzed exhaust.

Thoseare some nice looking rims JD. If it is a package deal you can always sell the exhaust on CL or something.

You can get a buffing wheel at Home Depot.....I believe in the tool section by all the drills and dremels.

They are cotton, look like this except that the ones at Home Depot have a shank on them.:

You can put it on a drill, die grinder, etc.. Much faster than by hand for something like those wheels.
If they just needed a quick polish you could do them by hand.

All this is assuming that at one point those wheels were polished nicely.

That would be tempting.

I am skiddish about high speed buffing heh very easy to buff them too much, how much would it cost to get them done. If I did do it my self what kind of drill would an B&D 18V be able to do it? Also where do you get that polish at?

These wheels have no history on them I am trying to get it out of the guy. He got them for his 07 and he didn't know they wouldn't fit.

Not sure how much anyone would charge to polish them.
Depending on the rpms of that drill it may work......faster it goes quicker it heats up the polish and material and polishes it.

I get the Blue Magic Metal Polish at Auto Zone.
