I'm not too familar with the 8.3, but I know it has great torque at the low end. I think the weight would be the killer of this project...

On the positive side the ISC is completly electronic IIRC...

By saying that you mean its chip-able (if that's a word)?

yes, well, tuneable. with a laptop i guess? i know thats how they do it on the bigger cummins. the shop my brother used to work at would send him and another guy out to recover thier wreck trucks, and they always turned them to the maxxxx before leaving.

I know some of the diesel pusher RV's have the 5.9's in them. I just can't imgage them doing very well performance wise.
