Not too bad looking...doesnt have correct 4WD fenders though...first digits of VIN would be F11 for 1/2 ton and F26 for a 3/4 ton...The automatic, if original would have a door tag code of G...it would have been a Cruise O Matic originally...
Its a great looking truck though...if it IS a factory 4WD you can get new repops...Not cheap though...there are good originals out there though...just gotta go hunting..
Fender nameplates are correct for 1965...looks to have new inserts though..
Jeff is right. It is a 2WD truck. I haven't researched the emblems and trim to see if it is the correct ones for the year. I just finally found one solid enough to fix for a nice driver and with the 4.6 it should be well on its way. I got the front I beams and pwr steering box from a 73-79 style truck so it will have front discs and pwr steering. Does anyone know if the seat from a later model F150 will fit?
I was thinking that with the missing side trim, tailgate letters painted over, and other noted items, that someone had started restoring the truck.
Was side cab trim available for the 66 4X4?
John
I have the side trim pieces in the bed as they were removed when I got it. It was painted sometime no to many years ago but its not a good job, maybe a maaco $99 special. I'm think about white top with a med-dark metallic blue bottom. Thats a ways away yet so I'll have time to decide on color and scheme.
