Ive got an 8'' lift on my truck. To make a long story short it started life as a 6'' kit. Anyhow, my track bar and drag link arnt parralell with each other and I have a bit of bump steer that I would like to correct. Today I was tinkerin around under it and came up with an idea.
Has anyone ever pressed the track arm ball joint out of the axle housing and flipped it, also flipping the track bar? I studied it pretty good ant cant see ANY reason why it could not be done. In theroy it would give me just about the perfect angle Im looking for.
Any thoughts? Anyone see any reason I couldnt do this?
I know this is an old post but found some info that related to it. there is a guy on another site that did it. You have to flip the trackbar too, cause the hole is tapered.
HAHA funny you post this, just the other day my brother told me about seeing this in one of the off-road mags and I have studied it. Cant find a price on it and have not called them yet, but after studying the pics hard I believe I can make my own. I have plenty of DOM and CM heims lying around, just need to figure out my approach to make the mount on the axle housing end.
Like you said, the main part would be the lower mount. Tried to get them to sell me just that, but they wouldnt. The bar itself is a piece of cake. Here's a good view of the mount:
Hey guys, bringing this thread back. Im new to Superdutys but my buddy has oneand hes looking at a 2.5" leving kit for his 2005 6.0. Quite a few guys are saying that an adjustable track bar or bracket are required. I grabbed a tape and Im thinking that a flip of the track bar would give about 3"...too much? Any positive insight would be awesome! Thanks!
