Tranmission drain plug.

Why did tranmission drain plug let out oil?
Need some help! Driving my 2002 F350 home from work about 10 miles pull into my drive way and all what was left of my transmission fluid poured out of the drain plug into my driveway. What would cuased this?

Did your truck come with a drain plug? I had to put one in my 4R100 on my van. You know drop the pan for the fluid change and while I had it off I drilled a hole and installed an after market plug kit.

Not sure if it is a drain plug. It is in the center of the pan but looks like only the center part off it is missing. It feel out about half mile away from my house. Nobody had been under the truck for weeks! can't figure it out?
