1987 F-350 fuel pump question

Hope someone on here can help. Anyway I have '87 F-350 DRW with 460 carb. and dual tanks. Did Ford build this particular year with the fuel pumps in the tanks only ? I've checked along the frame rail from the fuel selector valve to the carb and have not seen another fuel pump. I'm only asking because most parts books refer to the possibility of one in tank pump and one along frame rail. My rear tank pump needs replacing and I'm going to replace the whole assembly with the sending unit . Thanks

My `90 F150 has the fuel pumps in the tanks.I took of the bed off w/my engine hoist and I thought it was easier than dropping the tanks

The intank fuel pumps are low pressure pumps for the carb. The frame mounted pump is a high pressure pump to boost the pressure to 40 psi for the fuel injected engines. My '88 has the intank pumps as well as the frame rail pump for the fuel injection.

If you have a carbed engine you only have in-tank pumps. As stated above. Are you having a problem?
