So, since I found brass shavings in my fuel bowl, I probably need a pump. This one isn't noisy yet, but I don't want to be left on the side of the road halfway to GA. But I didn't think it would be $250!!! Anyone know of a more economically feasible place to get one?
If you've done the pre-pump mods on your truck, then a Walbro is a direct bolt in. Those can be had for just over $100, and flow more than the stock fuel pump.
You can search Ebay for the Walbro GSL392, or you can pick one up from Arizona TPI.

I can't find the other thread with the pictures for install. Someone might have it handy.
Pre-pump? What needs to be done first in order to run a Walbro? I may need one later and I think I'd like to put in a Walbro pump. It's a nice upgrade at less cost than a stock replacement.
The Hutch pre-pump mod needs done. It's removing the mixing chamber and extending the return line, and replacing the leaky quick-connect hard fuel line with rubber fuel line & double clamps. Also need a pre-pump filter since the mixing chamber had a screen in it.
The reason is that the Walbro has a nipple for rubber fuel line that you don't have on the stock system.
I did check his site, it was a bit higher..... I am intrigued by the walbro, if it has better flow and pressure. The bundy fitting is what I am looking for on the front, correct?

If you get the install kit that goes with the pump, then the outlet is a direct bolt on to the stock fuel line. The inlet is not, which is why it's best to have done the pre-pump mods where you remove the quick disconnect fittings between the tank and pump. Once you have a rubber fuel line in place, then the fittings that come with the pump will connect right up to that fuel line.
Yup, done all the pre-pump stuff. I found several different install kits, however. I am probably, as usual, over analyzing everything. Most of the kits on fleabay show barbed fittings on both ends, and the bundy fitting found HERE looks like the ford QC on the outlet of my stock pump.

That's what I was going to suggest, the Walbro worked wonders for my truck. It's way less expensive that the stock pump and will last way longer. A few other fuel mods and my pump will prove it's worth.

This is interesting but why did you choose a pump that isn't diesel rated? Is there a difference and what are the consequences of that choice?

It's true that they don't warranty this pump for diesel applications. The thing is, this pump has been used for years by diesel enthusiasts, and has really proven itself to be a good replacement. That's why I went with it. Cummins guys have been using it too. Mid-Atlantic Diesel has been selling them for a while. So my decision was mainly based off other's experience and reviews. So far, I've been very happy.
