Cold Air Intake

Right now I've got the 6637 air filter mod done to my truck. Would it benefit me at all to fab up a custom cold air box? I saw it done in the 99-03 forum, and was just wondering if it would be worth the time. I've finally got some free time, and thought I'd try to do something constructive. Any thoughts?

i think its been tested on the dyno before and you wont really get any difference. plus, while cruising down the road the air is constantly moving under the hood anyway.

Yep Joe is right. Watching intake air temps at speed over 30 MPH or so the air under hood is with in 10 degree's of ambient.

a custom built cold air intake may look neat under the hood though. anything custom built adds that sense of pride when you pop the hood for someone

Yeah I didn't think the performance benefits would amount to anything, but it would look pretty sweet. Any bright ideas where I could get a template? If not I'll get started when I get my truck back from the mechanic
