hey guys with my set-up (in my sig) would completely disconnecting the wastegate hurt anything?? i dont want to over boost my turbo?? i dont have any gauges or anything YET (soon tho) i was just wondering if i disconnect it would i notice a difference?? but wouldnt hurt anything??
With the stock compressor wheel, you MIGHT surge. Just listen for it and if it does, put it back on. It's not like pulling that line will send a barrage of parts flying out from under your hood. LOL... It may cause surge, which is hard on the turbo -- mine did that, but the WW took care of it. And who knows if the SC will push it hard enough or not. Give it a try and let us know. If you do pull it, press the end of the line onto one of the clamp threaded rods for the I/C pipe that's right there It keeps the pressure in the system instead of it being a small boost leak.
I tried to run mine with the red line off, I didn't go far and put it back on. I had surge before I took the line off, but with the line off, the surge was really bad. Like Joe said, try it, if you don't get surge you should be good.
EDIT: I never had surge with the superchip, only with the DP-TUNER.
my last ? i purchased on ebay a couple months ago an overboost valve that i had to put inline with the map line (that connects to the wastegate) but another little piece of hose came with and a little plastic piece with a hole drilled in it..sorry its hard to explain but with that overboost valve can i just put the line back on with out this little piece of rubber hose and plastic piece with a hole in it...
what was the like piece of rubber hose and the little plastic splice with the hole drilled in it for?? it came with the overboost elimitor (sp) and said to put it on up where the line connects to the wastegate its just like a 1inch piece of rubber hose that pushed on the wastegate and then the plastic splice with the hole in the middle then the map line itself...can i just put the map line back on with-out them 2 pieces but leave the valve inline...

This is the OBA I have. It don't connect in any way to the WG. click here
i just dont understand why that plastic piece has a hole drilled in it, i'm leaking boost there but it says make sure hole is not plugged..i dont know i'm just puttin it back on with out the little plastic piece and piece of hose
That add is full of talking. It is only a regulator on the boost map line to keep the map from seeing more then 22# of boost. Our trucks start to defuel when the map sensor sees over 22# of boost. This regulator only allows 22# to go through it so the map sensor only sees the 22# of boost. You could be making 35# boost but the map is only seeing 22.
This is the same thing that is in the link I gave you. But a lot cheaper.
