Does anyone know where I can find a steering wheel for a '74 F-100.Mine is cracked all over. The ones I've found at NPD,LMC and MAC'S were almost $300.00.Man that's high.Would anything else work on that truck model? One more question-does this truck supposed to have dash lights that light behind the heater and a/c,fan controls? If it does, mines not working and wanted to ask before I start removing a bunch of stuff from the dash.
Thanks for the help.-Ken
FMVSS #108 specifies that all vehicles built from september 1972 have control panel illumination for the headlight and wiper *****, the shift indicator on automatics, radio, and for the heater A/C controls.
As for the steering wheel, you are basicly stuck unless you go aftermarket like Grant.

FYI: Reproduced by Dennis Carpenter, who sells them to lmc, Mac's, NPD, etc.
The wheels Green Sales & Wesley have might be DC repops, they might be genuine Ford NOS (New, Old Stock) originals.
I put a grant on mine as well, no pic though. The only problem I have found with mounting is #1 without a spacer the blinker lever is really close to the steering wheel, and two it is hard to read the gauges because the grants are smaller diameter, and just happen to be in the line of sight for every damn thing haha
Only thing I will say about mounting, is mark straight on your column, I have a pet peeve of crooked wheels, hate it, so it took me twice to get mine set right. Buy the adapter kit, its all good, hardest part is getting the old one off!
I did cut my turn signal lever shorter and threaded it, screwed it back in the column. It was kind of tight with gloves on between the wheel. Also had to grind a little off the black piece between the wheel and the column because it rubbed a little. Otherwise just like Pickupmanx2 said above. I think its the best think you can do to the interior. Just like putting nice rims on the outside.
I went with the Grant too. It's a crappy pic from when the truck was 5 different colors and crap. I bent just the last few inches my turn signal lever about three inches out so I wouldn't hit my hand on it when I turn since the wheel is so small.
I have been looking into getting a Grant steering wheel. I have been looking on Amazon.com and they have some good prices on there. My neighbor got a Grant wheel for his golf cart off of Amazon and only paid $40 for the wheel, adaptor, and shipping.
