i'm looking to buy a 05 06 f250 or f350. I really would like an extended cab short bed but there aren't that many to be found in my area to choose from. I seem to find a ton of crew cabs around. My question is how much of a difference is there in the turning radius between them ( both short bed). I would be using the truck for snow plowing. I have a 95 f250 extended cab long bed that i use now for snow plowing and i want something that turns. What would you guys buy. Thanks
As long as your going with an 05+ it isn't that much of a difference. They actually turn a little too well. I am so use to leaf springs up front that I hop curbs like none other when I'm plowing in the 05+ trucks.
Agreed. The turning radius on these 05+ trucks is excellent. Get the crew hands down. I wouldnt have anything else, wouldnt even consider it. 6 seat belts, PLENTY of room.
Agreed. This same question was just asked in the 6.4 forum too. I tried out a supercab before ordering my CC. Couldn't fit the two carseats in the back behind the seats. I ordered a crew cab and have never regretted it. If you even think you're going to be hauling more than a front seat passenger, get the crew cab. Your back seat passengers will thank you for it.
Also, the '05+ trucks have the coils on the front and like was said above, they have a shorter turning radius than the leaf spring trucks.
I bought an 05' Crew Cab. Wouldn't do anything less. I did buy the short box and WOULD probably go long bed if I had a chance to do over but you wouldn't regret getting the crew.
Crew cab long bed has my vote. You will learn real quick where you should and should not try to squeeze in. Also always back into your parking spots so if some idiot hugs right up next to you, you will not be trapped with no turning radius room to back out.
i have an 05 cc drw long bed. love it.i actually think the steering isnt that bad thought it would be worse than it is. dont get wrong sometimes it sux. like in tight small parking lots but like mentioned above back in. it helps alot. and long bed u will always usr the space had the short bed once hated it. once u put a tool box in the back if u do u just lost more room. just my opinion i wouldnt get anything diff. from what i got now. its always good to have the room and not use it rather than not having the room and needing it.
