Lucky so far. aside from the occasional squirrel (dumb things run halfway then turn around most of the time) and a possum here and there I haven't hit anything major. My mom was a huge road kill hunter. She probably hit 5 or 6 deer over her lifetime.
I don't mind shooting animals, but I really hate accidentally killing them with a vehicle.
I was driving down a 4 lane highway about 65 MPH, on the side of the road was a dead deer, what I did not see until it was to late was the turkey buzzard eating on it,
it flew out in front of me, over $1200 damage!!! & feathers everywhere
I was coming home from work one night and hit a wild dog.I stopped to check him out and he was hurt pretty bad,so I wrapped him up in my raincoat and took him to the vet.But they said the best thing to do was to put him to sleep and it cost $50,so I agreed to pay but they wanted a check not credit card, the guy did it for free and told me that I could have gotten bitten and got rabbies. But I was just trying to do the right thing.
Did $4500 damage to the wife's '06 accord hitting a dog one morning. Took out everything below the headlights from the ds wheelwell to the middle of the hood. Car had about 3k miles on it when it happened.

Oh yeah, quite popluar....to this day, I'm constantly being told to "slow down, something might run out in front of you." Can't really argue with that.
i have hit a total of 4 deer, one cow, a pheasant that took out my radiator, and countless rabbits, skunks, birds, foxes ect... oh, and a badger. you gotta love livin on dirt roads...
