Cat removal

If I remove the cat on my 2.3L will the lack of backpressure cause any major problems??

No I dont reckon it would caust any problems except for maybe when inspection time rolls around. Dont beleive any of that crap that people tell ya bout it burning valves and stuff. How could exhaust escaping faster than it was before burn valves? I figger it would keep em cooler. I'm runnin open headers on my 302 right now until i get duals put on it and it runs better than before, but a heckofalot louder. I know a buddy who's got straight pipe on his 71 Ranger and it runs great, sounds good too. If it gets real loud, ya gotta watch out for em county mounties and local yokals.
