Ice storm - doors frozen

<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->
We're in the middle of an ice storm today and my poor old Excursion was a solid block of ice this morning.

I remembered a great piece of advice from one of you fine folks to pull on the door handle to pop the latch and then pull on the bottom of the frozen door to pull it open without breaking the door handle.

It works like a champ and I'd like to thank whoever left that post for a most helpful piece of advice!!!!

I found the bottom of the door trick out of necessity the other day. Works good but I fear that the door seal will pull off sometimes. I read somewhere that putting silicone on the seals helps to release them when frozen. Haven't done this to my truck yet but I used to have to do this on my Lincoln.

Yup silicone spray repels the moisture. Thats why I use it in my locks instead of any type of oil
