Banks Stinger System?
I was on the dps website and found a page with the banks stinger system on it. It claimed to add up to 38 hp and 40 pounds of torque. It included: Banks Ram-Air intake with cast-aluminum Hi-Rise air-filter cover, lifetime filter and service kit; Aluminized head-pipe assembly with seamless Y-collector; Aluminized, low-restriction Dynaflow muffler; Aluminized, constant-diameter Monster exhaust with 3" tailpipe; 3.5" polished-stainless tailpipe tip; DynaFact pyrometer and mounting panel; Comprehensive Owner's Installation Manual. I called Banks to ask about pricing they said it hasnt been produced for a few years. I was wondering if anybody knows where i would still be able to get this kit or at least the air intake intake setup so i could save myself the hasle of making my own.

Its too bad they pulled the plug on the IDI turbo kits. These engines are not going out of style when you see all the recent national magazines that are featuring them.
I can understand not wanting to make a new product for an engine that is no longer in production, but why stop making them completely if you already have the tooling set up and the turbos are still in demand?

when there is no demand for a product, why keep it in supply??
remember, we are talking about aftermarket parts for an engine that has not been produced in almost 14 years.

yea sooner or later no one will make any thing for our trucks

Actually it's the Stinger kit that was discontinued not the Sidewinder turbo system. Well not all of them anyway. We did discontinue some of the very early kits, for example we no longer make the non-wastgated version. But if you have an early year truck I can probably still put a kit together for you. So from 83-93 you can still get a Banks Sidewinder turbo system.

yea well all of our trucks are getting old, mine is 23 years old my dads is 20 years old so our stuff is starting to become antiches (sorry i know i cant spell lol) i hope that we could get alot of aftermarket things avalable for our trucks, but the only way that this will happen is if some one makes a truck that will run with some of the newer trucks on the strip or in the pulls.

Ford is discontinuing short blocks and stripped long blocks for the 6.9/7.3. But not complete long blocks, apparently.
