I had the Ford powercode remote start installed in my 09 Platinum last week. I must say it is great!! It will work from very very very far away. The system comes with an antenna that is mounted on the windshield behind the rearview mirror which allows it to pick up the code from anywhere. I keep hitting the button out of curiousity when I am out somewhere shopping or something, and its running everytime I get out there. I was in Home Depot yesterday pressed the button while waiting at checkout line, got out there and truck was running! Power running boards and memory seat and steering wheel still work as normal with my platinum. I would get one, dealer charged me $395.00.
its a good thing the truck only runs for ten or fifteen minutes. i could see my myself inadvertantly starting my truck all the time. its a seperate remote from the keyless entry remote right?

All on same keyless fob for me. I have no other fob for the truck. There is a lock, unlock, start, panic, #1, #2 buttons on my fob. 1,2 buttons are auxillary outputs, which do nothing on a pickup.

I have 2 fobs. The one on the right is my remote start. Interesting. Does your remote start work at over 400 yards away?
Mine will work that far away if there are no walls in the way....
there are two different starters...the 2 different fob one is like 300 bucks
the one that has the 6 button remote also has an alarm and is like 500 or so...
thats lame that it is two seperate remotes. i hate having a bulky set of keys. maybe ill be able to get an aftermarket all in one remote that will run my bedlocker too.

so you have the Gold system which also has an alarm. Those extra options 1 and 2 could be used to turn on the rear defrost/heated side mirrors, or turn on heated seats.
