that setting can be changed in the programming options for the remote start system. There are new instructions out for the Mykey change here, just sign up for a username on this website and click Ford on the menu bar: Code Systems Tech Services

(EDIT: I posted direct links to programming files on page 2 of this thread, no need to sign up on the Code Systems website if you don't want to)

Code Systems (Code Alarm) is the company that make the Ford systems. On that webpage is all of the technical install manuals for the Ford systems under the Ford menu tab like I said.

If you have just the single 1-button remote start, then you want to check out the file named PROGRAMMING - GEN2 BRONZE WITH OR WITHOUT "MYKEY" to change the setting, it's option bank 2, option 7.

no problem. I'm certainly no expert but I've owned a few Ford Powercode systems. I have a 09, not a 2010. Yours should have the Mykey, and your problem sounds exactly like the Mykey problem guys on another forum talked about it. and then with the new Mykey programming options that I pointed out on that website/file above, you should be able to easily change the option so that the remote start goes back to operating normally (like on the 09 and earlier trucks).

Mine did the same thing, but the day I picked it up I asked about turning that feature off and my sales person took the truck back to the service area and had the tech program it to not shut off when I open the door.
She did say something about the My-Key not working anymore with it set up like this.
But I'm the only one who drives the truck so I don't really care about the My-Key function.

Just as ohboy44 said, the MyKey is not compatible with the remote start options. Before I picked up my new truck, the dealership called and explained it that to enable the truck to staying running while you get in, the MyKey must be disabled. Once they do this then it can be programmed in the more traditional way. Mine works great, plus we do not have any reason for the MyKey so no loss.

I have the 2way system with a 2button system. I'm registered on that site but not sure which file to follow.. would I be the PROGRAMMING - GEN2 GOLD WITH OR WITHOUT "MYKEY" file?

thanks in advance.

(picked up my 2010 F150 yesterday and I know I Want to change this setting for the door locks !!)

ok I just tried the instructions but now I get three beeps and my truck wont start.

The troubleshooting guide suggests that this is a door ajar situation.

this text below was part of the instructions, but I admit I didnt understand it at the time. I did the process with my door closed.

"Note: on vehicles with negative polarity door ajar switch input circuits (refer to the vehicle specific programming section), the door is closed during this step unless the door ajar switch input polarity option has been previously changed to negative"

Soooo, how do I correct this please?

In trying to correct this, I held the button too long and it did a master reset.. now I get 4 beeps lol.. maybe I'll visit the dealer in the morning.
