I didn't know the TransGo kit modified the main VB too. I have the Factory Tech VB. I was changing to synthetic ATF and changing the filter so I figured it was easy enough to pull some bolts and swap the VB too. I've been really happy with it. Tight shifts with no slop at all. All I had to do was swap VBs and then send the old one back. Simple and easy.

What are the differences between the transgo and the transgo Tugger HD are they totally different or does the tugger Just add additional parts???
Anyone hav an opinion on running a Sonnax valve with the Transgo standard kit???? or is the Transgo standard fine by itself

You need to have at least 25 posts before the signature feature is enabled, then it sometimes takes a couple of hours after that for the site to give you the button.

Some have done it. I don't remember if the sonnax valve is for the 1-2 or 2-3 shift, I want to say 2-3 shift. The tugger kit fixed addressed the 2-3 shift on my wife's truck. I believe the regular transgo just modifies the accumulator valve body, while the tugger does the main vb & solenoid pack too. I'm guessing the main vb mods is what addresses the 2-3 shift, since I remember having a new spring going into the 2-3 hole.

Hopefully someone that knows for sure will chime in.

You need more than 25 posts or become a supporter to edit your sig.

The Tugger is the same as the HD kit, but adds one more mod. To me, if you're doing it, go with the full Tugger. It's a bit more, but then you'll have all there is to do. I know nothing about the Sonnax kit, but I can definitely recommend the TransGo. If I had it to do all over, I do the Tugger again in a heart beat. As long as you're comfortable tearing into the VBs, go for it. Some folks aren't, so the simple VB swap is good option. But you MUST get the tuning to match! Go with Tony Wildman or DP -- once you have the trans mods with the tunes to match, you won't recognize your truck from stock...

You could also install a sonnix (sp?) valve to firm up the shift, unless the programmer will do it.
Why? You do know who makes the Monster Box right? Our old friend Jasper. I wouldn't trust them to make more than a doorstop
