Also, if you are going to buy pistons, from TMeyer, or another supplier, you can buy just a "re-ring" kit so you dont end up having a set of 8 pistons you dont want laying around.

351m/400 if they are the 2 barrel version of the heads which both 351m/400 and 351c used unless you have a 4 barrel 351c head.

You said your not using the 4v heads any more. Are the 2v heads better or you using them for fuel mileage. Just curious if maybe im going in the wrong direction. Thanks for the help btw

the 2v heads stock will make 325-350 hp and 450 ft lbs without much trouble. you will also need 4v headers which aren't made for a truck so you need shortys. i didn't mean to go with 4v ports but bough aussies that were ported and they were pretty much a 4v port so i had to go with the intake set up. when i found out the heads were ported into the water jacket when i put water to the engine i had to get new heads. CHI heads are about the best you can get for these with the stock port locations and i already had a 400 2v intake so i think this is the best setup i can go with.

to sum it up, 4v heads are pretty huge and need RPM to take advantage of them and stock 2v heads will do what you are looking for in most applications unless you are stupid like me and spend all of your money on a truck engine.

note-chi heads are the way to go if you have money. by time you get your 4v heads machined and put 6-700 into your 4v intake setup and machining you should just get aluminum ones that are already machined and fit stock intakes. the ports on 2v chi heads are like 23% smaller ports but at peak flow the chi flows 12% more air. also the chambers are re-engineered and the plugs are re-located.

Ok, I think I will stay with the 2v heads. I dont need anything over 350 hp. Plus I already have 2v heads it will be cheaper and thanks again
