My 48 is in the body shop and will be ready for paint in about 3 weeks.I want to paint it cloud mist green using Dupont. Any one know the paint code to mix it? Thanks Dean
The local DuPont distributor should know the formula. If they say it's out of date, then they have a cross reference table to let you know if there is a more modern paint color of a different name that has replaced it in the formula names.
For example, my truck is going to be painted a 1953 Odsmobile "Royal Marine Blue" I've used this color to paint at least two other thrucks and a boat (I'm in such a rut).
Anyway, when last I ordered a quart, the guy behind the counter handed me the can and it said: "1971 Toyota Ocean Green." I looked at him like he was an idiot. But when I looked in the can at the color it looked good. I took and put a drop of that on a piece of paper next to a drop out of the old can of 53 Olds, and it was an exact match.
I thought you guys would never stop ribbing me for putting an Olds Color on my truck BUT THIS - TOYOTA!!!!!
I'm so ashamed!
Just ask them - maybe a paint chip might help if they have to scan it - that usually works pretty good too.
