Exclamation Sluggish Acceleration after filter change??

Guys,

I 've got a 01 Expy with 5.4L and 87,000 miles and i just replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the TB,MAF, and IAC.When i did the fuel filter i noticed the the fuel line about 6 inches behind the filter was pinched and almost bolted up with the gas tank. This was a result of a crappy mechanic replacing my tank for a leak i had in it.When he replaced it he pinched my fuel line with the bolts that hold on the gast tank.

I notice no lag a cruising speeds 50-75MPH, but taking off from a dead stop i have to stomp on it preety good.any 20-45 stop and go is horrible.

Could the pinched fuel line be causing the problem,it's no longer pinched however the hose will not return to it's regular self

If you didn't have a problem before you worked on the truck I doubt if the fuel line is the problem. Go back over what you did and make sure everything is reinstalled correctly. Check the direction of flow on the fuel filter. Its been a while since I replaced one but I think it will fit either way. Check any vacuum lines that may have been distrubed for cracks or splits.

Still Sluggish

I went through the entire engine and checked every vacumm hose and saw nothing out of place or missing. It has a good idle and however acceleration is still very poor.

All vacumm lines are in good shape i'm really stumped anything else i should check.Engine has a good smooth idle

Thanks in advance

You sure you didn't break the little wire in the MAF when you cleaned it?

Sluggish

You know that's a good question do you know if there should be two of those little wires? When i was spraying it with electrical contact cleaner there was only one wire there.Could a DPFE sensor be at fault,i'm not sure what to check next

My first thought was the MAF. Is the problem appearing at higher revs? Then you might look at so sort of fuel restriction.

If i have it in Park and slowly rev the engine it begins to stumble at around 1600 RPM and it sounds like a very slight miss.

If it were a fuel restriction, it would not be noticeable in park or neutral because there is no real load on the engine. I think you can rule out the fuel line restriction.

If it's happening only when the gas pedal is in the same physical spot each time, whether in park or drive, then I would look at the TPS as the problem or a vacuum leak.

Common vacuum leaks on a 5.4 = the rubber elbows on the PCV plastic hoses.
