300 exhust help
I have a 1987 F 150 with a 300 engine can i run no muffler on it just a peice of pipe comming off the catalytic converter? Do i need more backpressure or what or is that enough back pressure? I was told that the catalytic converter doesnt work will that change anything? If i just run a peice out the back what will it do if i dont have enough back pressure?

It should be fine, I put a 90 degree elbow in after my 2nd cat and a piece of pipe from it to the side of the truck ending in a chrome turndown tip. I've noticed a little more power and a lot more noise all for 20 bucks... btw its 2 1/4 inch pipe

A little expensive but the power and milage gains were worth the cost.If you have to little backpreassure I believe that there is a tendecy to burn the valves over time. Short term thrill for long term Bill. OK inrace cars when you do the work often anyway.
