I Hate SALESMEN
Well I have been going round and round with my dealer for the last 6 days hammering out a deal on the 03 Excursion that I have been talking about. I have been talking with the sales manager, bypassing the pee-ons. I told the manager yesterday that I was approved for the loan, and am currently awaiting the loan package. I notified them that I would put money on the vehicle if needed. I was told it was not an issue and not needed.
This evening I was informed that the vehicle had been sold by the "commerical" department. Right now I am so f*&king pissed!!

They would like to offer me an 06 F250 Crew Cab Lariat Amarillo 4x4 PSD 6.0 for the same amount as the Exc deal. However the truck has 127K on it. That is a ton of miles in 3 years!

I hear that,,,I was looking at a 2000 Excursion Limited,,,,went for a ride,,,found the front caliper seized,,they had my #,,waited a few days,,gave them a call,,,ohh it will be done tomorrow,,,was'nt able to get there for a day or so,,,phone rings,,,,Just wanted to let you know we got a deposit on it,,,,what the &%@!

Before buying our X, found another X on AutoTrader. Called dealer 2 hrs away the day before. "Yep, still here", "I'll call you in the morning and let you know we're coming up", "OK". Leave sales guy name and work number.
Next day call @ 0905. "Yep, still here", "Great, I'm 2 hours out, be there by 1130". "OK, I'll have it cleaned up for you". Give sales guy my cell. Arrive at 1110 and find sales guy. "Man, we just sold the truck at 1030". WTF . . . x@#@#%$@#%!!!!.
Drove 1.5 hrs down the road and found our current 05 X, EB, 6.0 w/ ~55K for a good price. Just ain't my first color choice, EB green over tan with two-tone leather. But other than that, so far all is good.

Years ago, I had a friend order a new van and paid up front for it. He waited and waited for it and after a bunch of calls, found out his van came in and was sold the same day to someone else!
Some car salesmen just see their commision and that's it.
To tell another story.. My oldest son sells Fords at the local dealership and he had showed a car to a perspective buyer. The buyer couldn't make up his mind and left. He called back later wanting the vehicle but it was out on a test drive with another customer so my son told him it was his if the other people didn't want it. The first guy was furious and hung up. As stuff goes the second customer decided against it and bought something else.
He had just started selling cars and approached his boss about it and the boss said he did the right thing. The other salesmen said they would have sold the car to the first guy while the other was driving it in a heartbeat!
I guess we did a few things right when we raised the kid... BTW, he's the number 1 salesman at his dealership now.
