Im looking into buying a 97 f150 with 150,000 miles. It has the v6, single cab and short bed and 2 wheel drive. Does anyone know what kind of fuel mileage or if its even worth messin with it with the miles as high as they are? Any input would be appreciated thanks
If the price is in the 2k range and you have the ability to fix what breaks it could be a good truck. I wouldn't plan on pulling any kind of good sized trailer with it.
Its only $1200. Jus looking for something to drive to and from work everyday. Have a f250 king ranch for everything else. Do u know what kind of fuel mileage the six cylinder gets?????
My oldest son has a 2000 XL short w/b with the V6 and 5 speed transmission and according to him, it doesn't get much better than my 97 Lariat with the 4.6 auto.
Now he's 27 and drives in a rather "spirited" manner.
My truck gets anywhere from 15 to 18 in town and 20 to 22 mpg on the interstate.
My 97 is showing 168,000.Typically I can average around 18.I drive like an old fart anyway....Not too bad for a Full size LWB automatic. I can tell you that in the summer, when the air is on,the mileage drops like a rock. Concerning load...Ive hauled WAY over the weight limit, and while it was a short trip(back roads) it performed flawlessly.
No doubt! We tow a pop-up and gear for 5 days (twice a year) to Talladega. We like taking the back roads, see more stuff that way and we get 15 no problems. And that is one heck of a load!! It's 240 miles and hilly once we get north of Mongomery, Al. Yea we loose some speed at the tops but it ain't about the speed getting there, just when them cars get on that track!!!! Almost time for it, having withdraws!!!!
