your are right, but the time you buy body panels and put them on your into too much time and money, would have been better off buying a good one to start with.
There's one in Bridgewater I went to see last year. Loaded, full time 4x4, 400M. Guy thinks it's in much better shape than it is. When I saw it last year, he wanted $2500, we offered $2000. He countered with $2200, and we walked.
Now it's a year later, he's still advertising it on Kijiji, and the price has dropped to $1600.
Kijiji seems to be the ticket if you want to find one. We ended up finding another one in Musquodoboit Harbour for $1100 that I'm in the process of fixing moderate rust damage, and readying a 300 six conversion..
is the one in bridgewater red and white?if so I was already talking with that guy and your right,he thinks its alot better then it really is.the old girl is pretty rough looking from the pictures.I may go the route we were talking about, gather some parts and build one.I would way rather have a 78 or 79 then a newer one if I could get it.
Yes it was. Let me be fair, I think the fellow had it a lot of years and had some money into it. I'm in the same boat with my '76. I'd never sell it, as I couldn't get half of what I got in it from a sale. Maybe a third!
I hope he gets a fair deal for it before it deteriorates. I think he could get what he's asking now, as the truck is loaded, with good features. I'd convert to part time 4x4 though.
I would be alot more interested if it was slightly closer,I emailed him back and forth a bit on it and I said due to the rust and the fact that it had a 203 case and such I would have to pass,he was fairly persistant that I reconsider.but it does need a fair bit so I'd rather pass and either build one or buy one already in good shape.did I read in the classifieds that your looking for doors jason?
right on,I was going to say a buddy of mine has a real nice driver side door.he's building a 75 with a 327 chevy with an overdrive auto,he has more time and money into painting the frame and suspension then I do in my whole truck.
