Do not install your Buds IDM in your truck!
If anything install your IDM in his truck.
No need for 2 dead trucks!
I also lean towards the IDM in lockout from low RPM or Low HPOP pressure.
Check power to the IPR

Update:
Finally got the truck running tonight! I put new batteries and all new cables on it then tried cranking. Was still not getting anything out of it! So I borrowed a nice snap-on scanner and put on there to check codes. I kept getting a code about the IPR circuit. After not finding a whole lot on here that helped me I just went out to take the IPR apart and see what was going on. Once I had the pigtail unplugged and the solenoid off the shaft I saw my problem! There was a very large amount of corrosion on the pins for the pigtail. Spent some time cleaning it all up and got here to fire right up!
