Is there a solid driveline in the market for a 69 f-100 long bed anywhere or do i have to have one made? I would like to get rid of my two piece driveline so it has less of a chance of exploding when i drag race my beater wood hauler on the 1/8th mile and beat the little imports that show up.
I have the "mated" np453/205 in my 1967 F-250...it came from a 77-79 era truck...So I now have a long single Driveshaft to the back axle....I just gave the measurements to the shop and they had one made in about a day.
You have to have a slip joint somewhere in the d-shaft and I think the one in your two piece shaft is between the shafts. If so to a one piece shaft you will have to have a slip joint at the trans and that will require a different trans. output shaft and extension housing.
They make slip joints for driveshafts, that's what the rear section of the shaft has. The one in the transmission rear housing is called a slip yoke.
Don't expect it to be cheap. Honestly, the one in there with new joints will be just as strong, and you would only need one strap.
