This whole time I thought I had a 300 I6 in my truck. How wrong was I!
I was passing a truck when my tranny kicked into OD and the rpm's dropped while I was accelerating. What did I hear? My Cummins comes to life! My windows were down. I could clearly hear my exhaust reverberating off the truck next to me, and the sound was that of a Cummins, no doubt in my mind.
Have to give credit to the Cummins. I've been giving it Gasoline for 4 years or so and it hasn't given me any problems! The funny thing is after I found out I have a Cummins the first thing I did was put a fresh tank of Diesel in my truck! Funny, my truck is running rough now.
My big question is why didn't the preivous owner tell me he swapped the motor for a Cummins?

Edit: This explains why my truck pulls so hard!
Bill.... Uhm.... iM GETTING WORRIED ABOUT YOU.....
My point was that at a specific rpm my truck sounds nearly identical to a Cummins. The purpose of this thread was to joke around and see who else thinks a 300 can sound like a Diesel.
After some farther experimentation I've discovered my truck always sounds like a diesel excluding off-the line thrust and wot. Apparently whenever my truck is cruising it sounds like a diesel when I give it fuel. Pretty neat.
Ive been asked before i had a diesel and seeing the look on there faces when i told them its a 300 six was priceless
Haha. One of the users on here straight piped his 300 with a 3'' pipe. I forget who it was, I wish he would post on here. Anyway he said he put a big ole' exhaust tip on the pipe and people would ask him all the time if he had a Diesel in his truck! I always thought that was pretty neat.
