Identify T-Case

Does anyone know what T-case this is?

It's identified as a "transmission and T-case from a 95 F350"

It doesn't look like the 1356... was there another one on our trucks?

This one is on cragslist as a "slipping transmission, good case" and I think I'm going to get it.

Hard to tell. I can see the pic too good. Can't zoom.

Yes. there are two t-cases used on our trucks.
I think '95 or '96 was the transition year.

Thanks Neal,

IIRC, the back case of the 1356 is flat, and this one looks tapered.

BW 4407 was the other transfer case that was used on these trucks.

Thank you joe.

So does that mean the year ID is incorrect, or could that have been on a '95?

I don't have a driveline yet, so I don't think it matters which one I get.

My 96 has a 4407 with the flange like that one. I always thought 96 & 97 were the only years that used the 4407 but someone recently had a 95 with a 4407 so I guess that one could also be from a 95.

I have it...

It's a E4OD from behind a 351W out of a F350. The T-Case is a BW4407.

I know that the transmission case isn't useable because of the different bell housings. What other inside parts are different?

I was planning on tearing this one apart, tearing mine apart and then figuring out between them which parts to use for the rebuild into a 4X4 transmission.

I'm probably going to get the $400 hard parts kit from BTS in addition to the "premium" friction rebuild kits. Anything else I should be doing for a transmission that's used to tow heavy behind a mostly stock 7.3?

converyters are different as well as number of clutches, the diesel has more for obvious reasons. the valve body/accumulator and solonoid packs will swap out unless yours or that one is an early 94-95 model and the other is later. but the solonoid packs are still the same
