Hi all. Hope someone can help me out with an upgrade. I just finished draining my fuel/water seperation filter. What a mess!!!! I found there is an upgrade to avoid this mess. http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/articl...icle-05-19.php Has anyone tried one of these and if so is it worth the money and where can I get one of these? I hope someone can help.
A lot of guys have those and strongly suggest them. I put one in at my last filter change and the truck wouldn't run. To protect the engine, I re-did the procedure and put the OEM plug back in since it was the only change I made to the system. Next filter change, I'm going to put it back in.

One of the best mods you can do!! I drained my seperator last night, and I can do it with my mechanics gloves on, no wrench required.
I held a clear container up to the plug and it went into the small mouth jug without spilling a drop. The new plug directs the stream of Diesel right where you want it.
I put that on my truck. It works great. Then I took a 2 liter bottle and strategically cut it with a razerblade to fit right around the drain and 0 mess.
Tell me. This post is about the 6.0. I guess I am answering my own question because I still have a 5 mm allen wrench from my 2003. Then I thought the 2005 went to a 8 mm allen wrench.
My 2008 has a swing valve, but it is in the frame rail behind the suspension. I am going to the shop tomorrow. Maybe they will let me watch, and I'll report...
