rear view mirror

How is the mirror removed from the windshield mount? There is a slot facing downward and I have tried maneuvering a screwdriver to release the mirror, no luck.....'94 F150.

Usually there is an allen wrench screw that screws in the base towards the windshield. Simply unscrew it/loosen it, and the mirror should slide up off the windshield button.

no allen wrench on these trucks.

it is a clip and if i remember you need a small flat head screwdriver.

i need to look at mine to be sure.

looked in manual, it says use a small flat head screwdriver from the bottom into slot on the drivers side to unclip.

pull screwdriver handle rearward until mirror snaps off of inside rearview mirror bracket.

you are of course holding mirror firmly at the same time.

take your time and do not force it or you may crack windshield.

My bad. I haven't seen that setup before. But then again, when I got my truck it already had an aftermarket mirror on it.
