Intercoolers

I have a cooler but working on one for a buddy. So I been looking at coolers and notice that some coolers (aluminum ends) the inlet and outlet look like they are at the same height. But the ones with the plastic ends are offset. Am i seeing things wrong or is there a reason as to why they are different.

I think the plastic offset ones are from 6.0 trucks. I guess should know since I have one. But have only seen pictures on the Banks site on ebay. Though I have seen a 7.3 cooler that had plastic ends. At least that was how it was described.

thats what i was thinking that the 6.0 was offset only. but i've seen some sites that show the 7.3 with plastic ends being offset.

Till I had read the 7.3 are all aluminum and same size of the inlet and outlet, and the 6.0 have plastic tanks and ofset in the lines.

i know the tube sizes are different between the 7.3 and 6.0 outlet but the height of the inlet and outlet from the base are they the same for both the 7.3 and the 6.0 cooler?

For the 1st few years the SD coolers were all aluminum and I believe it was on the 01's that they switched to plastic end tanks.

On a 6.0 IC the inlet and outlet are at different heights.

Stock 6.0

Tapercore 6.0

7.3 with inlet and outlet at the same height

Gotta be big enough to flow the air needed. The only one that I have seen that can flow the air needed is hypermax's OBS kit but I am all for bigger is better! That's why I am overweight....
