Cool Some Major Promblems NEED HELP

Ok well I got a remote start for chirstmas. Well they said it woundt be to hard to install so instead of paying the 100 for them to do it I figured I would. Well it came with some nice instructions and steps. So I get on step 5 of 11 and I had to run up town. Well I take the key out close the doors and left. Came back the truck was dead. So I charged it got back to doing my work. Well then I noticed I have the doors open with the key out of the ignition and the radio is still on. Well its powered but nothing coming out of the speakers. Well at this point im pissed. My low fuel light is on but I have 3/4 of a tank of fuel. My buddy turns my headlights off auto to manual and it kills the motor. Im like what the hell. So I unhook everything I just hooked up for the last 5 hours. These are my problems now. No fog lights No dash lights No center shifter light No seat belt dinger No sound out of my radio and when you turn the light switch not only does it kill the motor but if you go from on to off the rpm and speedo needle move a little bit. Im thinking about just taking the connectors off throw some electrical tape on it and take it to the dealer and hope warranty will cover it. What do you guys think could be the problem. I followed what the instructions said.

Take everything that you hooked up and remove it. Check all the fuses make sure they are not blown. Pay the $100 and have them hook up the remote start.

Ya I removed everything. I havent checked the fuses. Im hoping thats it. I did what the insturctions said and they were really detailed. But in the morning Im planning on calling them and see when they can install it. Should have done it in the first place. Im usually pretty good at electrical stuff. But that is mostly house kinda of electrical not to much experience in cars. I hope if I have to take it to the dealer they dont void my warranty

Any other ideas. Do you think warranty will be voided even if I tape over everything and say it was the previous owner probably

If the fuses are all okay and you still have the same issues maybe you can try disconnecting the battery for a hour and see if it resets anything. Make sure the battery is fully charged, Hopefully you didn't damage your instrument cluster. If all else fails take it to the dealer and play stupid. Say it had to be the previous owner and hope your warranty will cover it.

I keep seeing a lot about how weird these trucks act when the battery gets weak / bad. You might want to check the battery and connections. It could also be the alternator. Scan some of the other posts about trucks doing weird things. If what I see in your signature is the truck and has the original battery it could be 6 years old in the truck, maybe older in manufacture.

Well I unplugged it overnight. Going out there to see what I can do with it. The battery and alternator are new put them in July. Might just play stupid and say he had a remote start in it before
