2008 4.6 performance????
Hey guys, im new around here, im a Ford Tech (mostly diesel) but Im going to try and help anyone out I can.
Anywho, a good friend of mine recently bought a new 2008 single cab 4x4 F150 with the 4.6 2v in it. He is looking for a few things to wake it up a little..........I've told him the normal stuff like a cold air intake, long tube headers, programmer, etc, etc..........BUT i dont know what is availible as far as aftermarket for this truck, what are the best options, and what has shown good performance gains? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

really suggest you do a search. there are a hundred topics exactly about this.
tuner, 4.10/4.56 gears...best money spent IMO. CAI/Exhaust are only to make it sound good
the 4.6 isn't responsive to mods...nor is the 5.4. A tuner will help, but really his only real way to wake it up is gears.

I really wish he would have waited on the 4.6 3v engine in a 2009, I can work wonders with one of those.
Well does procharger or anyone make a blower for these things?!?? (I have seen the 5.4 package but not sure on a 4.6)
And what gear ratio is right for this truck??? He still drives the truck every day, about 60-70 miles a day.........i know I went 3.73 in my car and it still gets good mileage, not sure about the pickups.

Troyer Performance can definitely also help you out with a tune. That shop has tuned more trucks than any other in the world as far as I know.
I have talked to Mike Troyer himself a lot and can tell you that he definitely knows more about these trucks in that department than anyone else in the world. LOL
