hey guys...
thanks for all the valuable info. one question though....
was the diode problem a recall issue or just a serious problem?
the 2000 limited V10 i like has 108k, but the guy doesnt know about the diode. he said he has had all recalls done, and has never had any trans problems. how can i find out if it was fixed or not include, etc? i dont want to spend 6k on a truck and 4k more for a trans rebuild. let me know...thanks again in advance for the help...

I might be wrong, but I think the diode problem was only on the diesels. Someone who really knows will be chiming in soon.

From what I found out the mech.diode was only on the early 2001 diesel Excursions,,Not on any gas v-8 or v-10 Ex's. I wonder if the mech.diode's where ever in the 2001 Diesel SuperDuty's ?

No gassers.

Diesel only. All 4R100's behind the 7.3L were affected.
