broken mechanical advance
I'm beginning to think the Mechanical advance on my distributor is fubar. According to the timing light and my ears, the truck is spot on in time. But it runs like crap...if you do anything other than feather the throttle, it'll fall flat on its face and nearly stall. Ease on the pedal and it'll eventually pick up and haul *****.
Advancing the timing definately makes it run better, but it also pings and rattles like nobodys business. Retard the timing and it either stalls, or runs much like it does now. Does this sound like a broken mechanical advance?
