This AIH delete mod is it worth it?? is there actually any difference at all?? thet AIH is right in the middle front of the butterfly right?? kinda near our GPR??? and is there any codes get thrown when doing this mod??
Once you pull the AIH, you'll see how big it is. Is it worth it? Sure. Don't expect any seat of your pants HP gains. Just cleans up the airflow path to the engine. And it's a cheap mod.
Butterfly?? No butterflies in our trucks (except in the stock turbo outlet ).
There is a soft code stored in the PCM, but no CEL. You can put in a 470 ohm resistor in place of the AIH and it will defeat the soft code.
It's a pretty big hunk of crap smack in the middle of the intake tube, so getting rid of it has to help flow, even if it's just a little. I simply took mine out of the spider, cut off the coil, broke the ceramic insulator, and sawed off the conductor. I'll eventually put in a tapped plug for my boost gauge pickup, but I haven't gotten 'round to it yet.
You can also go to autozone and get a oil drain plug off a 2000 dodge diesel truck that will work as a plug as well. I got it for about $8. I terminated the hot wire back to the aih relay and left the ground in place. I kept the aih in case I ever wanted to re-install it.
soo basically take it out of the spider remove the hott wire completely, leave the ground wire and screw the plug in..?? and i wont get any codes on the dash?

Yep. I pulled the ground and hot wire and tossed them in the trash can. Another useless POS that doesn't need to be there.
That's why you put the resistor in place of the AIH. The PCM "sees" the resistor and thinks the heating element is still there. You have to put the same resistor in place of the EBPV solenoid if you gut your pedestal too, or you get a similar soft code. I still have to do this -- haven't gotten to it yet.

I will be doing this when I get time. Where does the resister go. I would assume one end goes in place of the AIH on the end of the + wire. Does the other go to ground? Sorry if I missed something somewhere.

It goes between the switched side of the relay (the side that goes to the heating element) and ground. Any ground, doesn't matter.
EDIT: I plan on putting in a small piece of wire in place of the big honkin' one that was attached to the AIH. I'll put a couple ring terminals on each end of the wire, and the resistor soldered in the middle of the wire someplace with heat shrink over it. The 470 ohm resistor only passes about 450mW, so a smaller wire is easier to work with, and all you need since there won't be nearly the current on it.
Something like this: O-=========-/\/\/\/\-===========-O

Tell me where to get the resistor and where did you attach it to?On top of where the other end of the red wire was?

See ^^^above^^^. You need at least a half watt 470 ohm resistor. You can get some at RadioShack. I picked up some 1W jobbers, just because I believe in overkill. LOL....
