Doing some research cause i like to know a little bit about everything that and the fact that this site is alot bigger than i thought. Model numbers and what would be best for my application is what i am interested in. What diesel would be best in an older pickup?? Is there a thread that would explain this?? Looking for the grunt cause the truck is close to 5000 pounds anyways so a diesel would be a nice alternative. Just mainly research for now a healthy FE that shakes the fillings out of your teeth is just hard to give up ya know?? Mainly a daily driver so no off roading but would like to have my head banged off the back glass if i can. Sounds childish i know but i have always been addicted to being depressed into your seat so yes i love to get on it every now and then when rice burners with fart tips want to play Price will probably go way up when it comes to fuel and women so its always nice to have options.

Reason: Wrong thread
-Fuel economy: Cummins 4BT(3.9)
-Just driving (good power/reliability/economy):Ford/New Holland 6.6, Cummins 6BT(5.9), DT360 IH, or a Perkins 6(like a 6.354)
-For the all out power: a DT360, or Cummins 6BT.
I have a RTO6610 I get 25MPG and some change. rear gears is 3.54 the trany is 20% onerdrive.I don't have any trouble out pulling a buddy of mine going down the hwy grossing26.000lb.He dynoed at little over 500hp and 1050tq.But since then I added the twins and the 330hp marine injector the pump is maxed out now. Mine is the 1000series when I got it it was called Detroit PhasserThen after I bout it Perkins bout back the US rites to this motor from Detroit because Detoit didn't markit the motor like they was sopose to.a year later Cat bout Perkins out totally. It is a good motor.and I have airride homade KW bags
Perky, Thats cool. GOSH! I'm going to buy the Watsila-
Sulzer RTA-96C and build by truck around it, then I'm going to haul the Komatsu D757A around in one piece. None of this sissy stuff for me. The Watsilla reverses so that will save a bundle on transmission and fluid and I'll be able to haul enough fuel to run for 15 or 20 seconds. Won't Ford try to copy that?
