Ordered a XL with regular cab today. It's my first truck. I'm not a hugely into trucks, but it's the cheapest way to get the 4.6 liter 3V with a limited slip rear axle. Best part is, it's cheaper than the Cougar that I bought 12 years ago - which by the way also has a 4.6 liter and is still running great after 200,000 + miles!

Congrats Rob! The 4.6L is a fantastic engine that will continue to serve you well into the future. I've had a few of them and have never been disappointed. I think these are the best looking XL trucks Ford has built since the 1986 models. My local dealer has an XL Screw on the lot that is like a stone color and I'm impressed with how nice it looks.
I'm really impressed with how much stuff comes standard on the XL. That coupled with the 4.6 liter fuel economy, and reliability sold me. The other thing that hit me was how spacious the cabin was - and that with the regular cab!
I have the 08, but I was looking at a plain ol' XL white 09 worktruck yesterday at the dealer when I was there with my son's truck and it was real nice, super truck, I would have signed for it in a minute if I was still lookin'.
It will be good truck. I really like my 4.6. I do wish it had a little more hp but with the updated 4.6 that your getting you will have a little more hp then what I have.
