In "Internet Options" under the "Advanced" menu many options are available.

Some of them require logging in when such was handled by cookies or stored passwords in the past. BE AWARE: You should be sure you know what all of those passwords and so on ARE before you do that....

Wiping out cookies can require that SPECIFICALLY.

Clearing your "HISTORY" means you have to go back and find anyplace not set as a "FAVORITE"
On the other hand - if you surf at work it gets rid of your backtrail so your boss doesn't know where you went....
Did you know you can surf history files to see where people went on your computer? TRUE!

Right click "START" and go to explore. Pick the "HISTORY" directory and go look....

Myself personally - I do that once in a while just to keep my PC from running through huge files of garbage just to get where I want to go. Which takes time, and bogs down the connection. I dump all of the old stuff

Running "DEFRAGMENT DRIVE" is one of the best things you can do on a periodic basis. It helps organise all of your programs so they are more quickly accessable. As things are picked and used by the computer they get re-stored in random places as space is available - and may be scattered all over your hard drive. That makes them hard to find, and adds to overall "SEEK TIME" - which slows the PC down and may cause it to err.

THEREFORE:

Run your computers "DEFRAGMENT DRIVE" under "PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/SYSTEM TOOLS" and see what happens.

If it doesn't clear the problem - it will still help your PC and speed it up
I strongly recommend defrag

It is a recommended move by manufacturers of software before loading new programs

And what the new additions to the forums are - constitute new programs. They are changes to what was there - upgrades and so on. It seems like a good idea to me.

I hope something in what I have told you works.

TheForum software is being weird. It was fine after the update until these past two days or so. It is now working under Firefox 3.0.5 on my other backup computer, and it was not working earlier, but I did not even clear history or cache on this system.

On my main computer Firefox is also now working again, however it is still not working under IE6, and I have cleared the history and cache several times, and it still will not function under IE. Both systems are running a fully updated copy of Windows XP with service pack 3.

Clearing your browser cache, cookies and temporary internet files have worked for most users.

What exactly does that hotkey combination do?
Anybody know?

I do know most people never run a thorough maintenance series, and that does a lot -

It clears unused junk, defrags, dumps the cache, and even removes ICONs from the desktop that have not been used in a century or so....

(Like old game starting links that we don't play anymore)

You can also set your internet history to not store anything older than a week or two (which is good. if your internet history is unlimited it saves cookies for years in the past. When old cookies are on file they tell any website they apply to that you are who you were when they were put there. GOD FORBID that a new Lady friend discover that you had an automatic LOGIN for all manner of pornography...)

(?)

*Of course - a lot depends on who she is...

Anyone have a clue why I keep getting prompted for my password when im alredy logged in? whenever I try to navigate through the site a box pops up with this message.
The server campaigns.ford-trucks.com at Admin_Only requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).
