fuel flow valve for carburated engines

I just bought a fuel flow valve with return, will this work on my 1963 pickup with a 302. I`am using a acura fuel pump and i keep flooding carburator. I use a needle valve and run part of the flow back to suction side. When it is cold out, pressure shoots up and i have to stop and turn more flow to suction side. A freind said i ought to buy front cover and install a mechanical fuel pump and quit messing with electic.

Thanks

Yeah, go with a mechanical pump and scrap out that electrical non Ford pump. Keep it simple, and its more "age appropriate" for your truck.

There is nothing wrong with using an electric fuel pump as long as it is the correct one for your carb. Find out what pressure is required for the carb (if it is a stock Ford carb it I believe it will probably be around 7psi). You could also install a fuel pressure regulator.

4 to 6lbs is best for most carbs. Is it an Acura EFI pump??

My old 1963 ford pickup has the hard axle in it, and i was wondering if anybody has
ever installed a sway bar on the front.
