Thanks for all the replies.
Thanks for the info on the vacuum pump.
No alarm system, I`ll check the fuses, charge the batteries, the jump the starter relay terminals then try tapping the starter if I can get at it.
No sign of any mice activity but who knows....
The batteries tested ok in a load test.
I talked to a Ford tech and he pointed out that some of the things it could be.....neutral start switch, starter solenoid, wiring.
I haven`t tried to tap the starter solenoid yet, if it`s not that then on to it`s nightmare city.
Thanks for the tip, I want to try everything I can before having it taken to the dealer, at $100 plus an hour labour rate it ain`t going to be a good thing!
I know the service manger abit so hopefully that may help, he`s comes back to work tomorrow.
No matter as I love this truck so I`ll bite the bullet if it comes to that though it`ll be after it warms up and I need it.
An update and a good tip to remember.
Since it`s sorta spring here I finally I talked to a good Ford diesel tech from our local Ford dealership that told me to hit the power door locks afew times.....that did the trick, as soon as I did that the starter cranked right up, truck running like a hound!
From what I gather is the computer thought that the truck was being stolen and wouldn`t engage the starter circuit.......DOH! Seems this happens at the dealership`s lot too.
I`m all smiles now.....Big ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like it was the anti-theft all along......
That leaves getting my 92 F250 to start better now, seems there is a tiny bit of air entering into the fuel system, possibly from the fuel filter bleeder valve or somewhere else, so it makes for a hard start condition. Once it`s started in the morning it`ll fire up instantly all day long and run fine......
