Replacing an Amsoil BP90??

Hi, guys. I'm kind of stuck in the middle of an oil change. I'm visiting my brother in NY and wanted to do an oil change before heading back to NC. I need a EaBP90 bypass filter but find that all the dealers can only order it for me. Well, I can do that, too, but no matter who gets it there's not enough time to have it shipped. Does anybody know what other filters would 'replace' the bypass just to get back home and put the right one on? I looking to find the correct thread size and gasket spacing but there seems to be nothing on the internet with such info. Now, before all you Amsoil guys write a book telling me that no other filter will perform like the Ea90, I know that. I'm just looking to drive 1000 miles back home and then replace it, as soon as I can get one. I have to tell you that I just came back from Spring Carlisle and talked to about 6-7 dealers who told me that they could order it for me. I went to that show as a vendor figuring that I could pick one up. All anybody could do for me was give me a catalog. Does it really hurt to stock a few products? I know that costs a few bucks but that's what used to be called customer service.

When are you leaving? I can't tell you the size, but there is a warehouse in Lancaster, PA. You order online today, it ships tomorrow, you have it Tuesday. This is the primary reason why most dealers don't stock stuff; the warehouses kit it out the door fast. The other option is to order it as customer pickup and get it on the way through. I'm not sure where in NY you are or what route you will take back to NC, but it is an option provided you have tools to do it with you. Worst case scenario is you just change it when you get home. It's a bypass filter, so it is not as important as the primary full flow filter.

Thanks, Juneau. I'm leaving on Wednesday. I already dropped the filter and drained it but I guess I could just put it back on 'till I get home. Right now, I'm in Latham. There's a bunch of things I want to do to my truck while I'm here with a nice workshop. Noticed your maltese cross but couldn't read it. Where are you from?

I'm from Nassau and I work in Latham right near the airport. Small world, eh? I hear you on the nice workshop; I sure wish that I had one to work in.

Well, I got a lot done on the truck today. Changed the fuel, tranny and coolant filters. Added my front receiver hitch and wired up my removable winch, too. Ordered the oil filter from the Lancaster branch, should be here Wednesday. I'll top it off and head to Ohio and then back to NC.
I worked in Green Island Fire for 32 years, retired in '02. Moved to NC in '06.
