Now that I've got the valve covers off I decided to put in some new glow plugs while I'm here. I'm sure there are some threads in here about glow plug removal/installation, but my search revealed several million threads lol. Anyone got any links or good pics? I've got swap out the UVC harnesses ( both had connections melted together ) and put in the glow plugs as quick as I can, and it'd be a major relief to know exactly what I'm doing, especially after reading the horror stories about stuck glow plugs.
Pull the wire off of the glow plug (straight up). Use paper towels and a long thin screw driver to dry up as much oil around the glow plug as you can (you won't get it all). Use a 10mm deep well socket (thin wall, 1/4 drive works good if you have one). Unscrew the glow plug, if you feel it starting to stick (hard to turn) stop, spray the glow plug with penetrating oil and screw it back in, spray it again, let it sit and work on another one then go back to it. Try unscrewing it again, if it gets tight, more penetrating oil, screw it back in some and then back out, keep doing this until you have it out. Install new glow plugs and torque to 19 N-m (14 lb-ft).
If you can get your hands on this it works 10x better than PB blaster. Its called FREE by Certified. Its expensive but well worth having. Just a thought.
Alright thanks for the input guys. I think I'll spray some penetrating oil and let it sit till tonight and get started. I got a quick question about the UVC harness too if you dont mind. Where the inside of the harness connects to the injector solenoid, does it come off the same way as glow plug wire? I haven't had time to get in there and mess around and I wanted to make sure I won't break anything before i go tuggin on wires.
We have a rep that comes to our shop and sells it. You can go to certifiedlabs.com and find ouit how to get in-touch with a rep in your area. Just to warn you it is around 15 bucks per can, but it will start disolveing rust when you spray it on.
Glow plugs are in! Only took a little over an hour, longest part was cleanin the oil out around the plugs. Thankfully none of the plugs were stuck and all came out easy. Thanks for the help guys i really appreciate it.

There is a small wire latch that pivots down to release the injector solenoid connector, double check you get it fully latched when you are done or it will fall out sometime down the road. You don't need to disconnect the injector to change glow plugs.
Well the valve cover gaskets connections have melted together causing my truck to stop running, so they're gettin replace tomorrow. The glow plug change is only because I've already got the covers off and they're gettin pretty worn.

I don't mean to question. But this number seems high. Every one of mine, If i remember weren't this tight removing them. And i am in the middle of this project now and searching on what torque to reinstall them.
