I get a message on my E-mail account any time somone replies. I set it that way a long time ago. Not sure what the available settings are, but look under "user CP" toward the top left of the page. You should be able to change it to what you want in there.

Brian_B what is your opinion on me putting the 12v cummins in my truck. Is there anything you would do different?

I click refresh to renew the page everytime I go back to the forum page. Then I jump back into the thread if the thread title is bold faced again, indicating someone has replied since. If not bold faced, noone has replied. I have the 48-60 forum page set as my link with my sign on checked so I am logged in automatically. Very rarely do I go to the home page of FTE.

Your serial number on the glove box should match the number on the frame. Since it is an F500, the odds of someone messing with the title is not too likely. An F100 on the other hand....

No clue at all. I know nothing about the diesel engines. That would take some research about them around here for you to do.

I am a stocker. I still run the Y-block in my F-100.

A friend if mine has a F-600 with a Y-block in there still. They use it on the farm:

Not sure how to link to youtube, but maybe this will work:

YouTube - Y-Block powered F-600 Two-Ton Truck

I do like stock myself, but being from wyoming original stock parts for true restoration is almost out of the question. most people Farmers/Ranchers used the snot out of these old girls. so any original parts are shot.

I would imagine so. You asked me specifically about the diesels. I have no clue at all. As far as I know...I have never even ridden in anything with a diesel engine.

Mine was in pretty good shape when I got it...even though I wanted a hotrod...I could not hack it up. LOL

Mine is not quite stock. Radial tires, autometer gauges, carpet, headliner, power brakes (hidden) and a few other things. Just mostly stock.

Brian_b: I Am A Diesel Mechanic, So That Is Kinda The Way I Like To Go. Although I Did Build A 69 Chevy 3/4 Ton Long Bed. Its Sweet. Wood Bed Floor, 400 Small Block, 5.8" Rods, Kieth Black Rotating Assembly, Red Line Of 6000 Rpm. Just Took It Out For A Spin This Morning. Although I Cant Wait To Get Started On The Old Ford. I Plan On Burning Veg Oil In It To Help With Fuel Costs, And Get More Power Out Of It See-ins How Veg Oil Is A Higher Btu Fuel. Lots Of Extras To Do Due To The Cold Temps Here, Veg Oil Dont Like The Cold

Another way is to look at a part number.
Letter B will 1950's
Letter C will be 1960's.

But to me it looks like a 1960 for the title.
