e4od Help!
Hi, I am a newer member but i am in need of some help. I have a 94 F150 with a 302, I just put another trans in it, E4OD, to replace the bad one. The new one was rebuilt about 1 year ago and looked clean. We had to remove the shift shaft and swap it out with my old one for the linkage to work and I am confident that it was done right. Here's the catch, The truck will not shift, I have reverse and can put in in drive and it will go but not get out of 1 st gear. If I manual shift it it goes from 1st to 2nd fine but when I go to drive it it shfts into I guess neutral or so it seems. Any ideas? I do have the MLPS switch adjusted as per the instruction on this site and they were very helpful. I check the connectios and they seem fine. Thanks in advance.

I would think that if the shift shaft was in wrong then you wouldn't have reverse or neutral.
A scanner with a data stream would be helpful at this point.
If you unplug the trans at the case connector it should start off in 4th, it will set all the codes but at least you will know that it is capable of another gear.
