It sounds like he was just frustrated and needed to vent. I don't think he was deliberately stirring things up.

How about a little compassion for a fellow having problems?

Even then, those Allison Transmissions they are using behind the Duramax have not lived up to the marketing. They certainly are not bulletproof like the Allison transmissions I have used in over 15,000 GVW vehicles.

No, I don't think so.

Women vent. Men fix things. This is an unwritten law that you should not mess with.

I think Redford is right...the OP just wants to bash Fords. I just got my F350, so can't speak to the reliability, but I had two F150s before (and only traded them because I progressively started towing more and more..my 2002 4.6 handled the jet ski fine, but upgraded because I started towing ATVs, then upgraded to the F350 6.4 because my 2005 5.4 wasn't quite enough truck to pull the toyhauler I purchased last March). But then again, if ABC says they're bad, they must be (forget the fact that the F150 has been the best selling vehicle for something like 17 years...).

If I remember things correctly. Ford manufactured up-to 250K as in THOUDSAND trucks every year for the 6.0. (can I get a correction here?)

I am still waiting for the other million owners to register their thoughts.

Regardless of all your ranting, Ford has made do to support these trucks with the 5/100k warranty.

Go get it fixed or not.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forums.

Ford and their SD line of trucks is much like the PITTSBURGH STEELERS, a true winning combination...
I hope FTE has the "don't ask don't tell" policy.

Maybe he has put your nads in a vice because he knows you are a Steelers fan! Just kidding, good luck today.

It is normal for first year ANYTHING to have issues. Good thing you didn't buy a 94 GMC 6.5 turbo with EFI. The fuel pressure sensor was inadequate and led to many stranded users. The sensor was buried in the injection pump, so it was a significant repair. GM must have lost millions in warranty claims. Mine was done 4 times. They covered the rental car cost and later extended the warranty out to 11 years to keep owners loyal. The real frustration occurs when problems carry on year after year.
Every manufacturer will have problems; as long as they do their best to take care of it, the sky is NOT falling. Treat these things as the inconvenience that they are, or move on.

True!

I could have had the same reaction when the CPS went out on my wife's Excursion, leaving her and my kids stranded 40 minutes away from home on a back road.

And while I don't want to start yet another 7.3 versus 6.0 thread, I will say, for ME, I chose to own a 7.3L PSD (two of them, now) instead of a 6.0 because of all the problems that have been reported by the 6.0L crowd.

My 06 SD has had one problem since I bought it new... the cab brake lamp burned out.
