Been some time since I have done cab mounts but any way my first truck was a 1970 F100 300 3 on the tree. Paid a hundred for the truck I was 16 then 800 getting it road worthy. I used an angle grinder to grind away the old mounts worked good for me and cleans the area up.
thnkx thay are spot welded an risted in two i traded A 77 1 TOn for a 74 short wide 2weel drive it was in a lot better condition an i ahe a 351 winzer board 40 over with flat top pistens an comp cams with a 7502 cfm carb an intate set it should scream when im done it will have a c6 trans behind it with 411 gears
What I did for mine was drill out the spot welds. This was a very clean and easy way of doing it. Then take the time to clean up the area and prevent it from rusting again.
I also drilled out the spot welds. There are quite a few and takes some time, but if done right the new cab mount plops on and weld where the spots were. I would recommend getting the drill bits made for drilling out spot welds. They work really nice.
