Honestly, I didn't care too much for it. I thought the acting was a little off, and I agree JD that it didn't really feel like an Eastwood movie.

wow, i guess i'm a chump, I just saw tonight and loved it! Yea i would have liked a different ending, but in retrospect i think it was a great way to end it. There was a closed off line to get into the theatre tonight, musta been 200 people in line, nearly every seat filled prior to any trailers! I also appreciated that this theatre was racially diverse, yet we all laughed at the bigotted comments through out the movie. Dan

I saw it a few weeks ago in a less than 1/2 filled theater. Everyone did laugh at the comments

Thought it was a good movie, a little drawn out, but a surprise great ending. Eastwood should get an award for this; he has had some career from Rowdy Yates on "Rawhide" to here! The ending, though a surprise to Eastwood fans, is well thought out and gets the job done.

I saw it with my wife and youg adult kids, everyone thought it was an outstanding movie. Possibly the last for Eastwood and evidence he has mastered his craft after all these years. The movie is exquistely crafted from many small pieces much the same way a quilt is slowly and carefully sitched together with the same stunning end result. There is nothing phoney in this movie-no exploding cars or other over the top movie stunts, which is why some jaded movie goers might think the movie is dull.

I've been wanting to go see this movie. The last one I went to was with my daughter and her friend. Got called away for work. Going to a movie or to church is the surest way to get the cell phone to ring with a call from the local law needing a tow truck. As I am on commission taking time off means lost income. I'm going to stop reading this thread before someone gives away the surprise of the ending.

"Jaded movie goers?" Interesting label. If I want this kind of sh** I can watch the evening news. The movie was flat dull. Eastwood's grunting, scowling, cussing, and racial slurs for the two pages of dialogue he had isn't Oscar material. While the theme of the movie was honorable, it could have been made much more interesting to my taste. Just the opinion of a "jaded movie goer."jd

While I thought the movie was OK, Clints character reminded me of an old neighbor. Mean and nasty on the outside, but a incredibly nice guy once you got to know him and got past the "mean old man" front............but the movie wasnt what I expected.

If it doesn't have jetliners exploding, mega shootouts, car chases, gratuitous sex, tons of special effects wizardry and the movie makes you have to think, then a lot of people call it boring.

Oh well.
