What stall torque converter
I am going thru my motor and as long as I have everything apart I thought I would replace the Torque Converter and perhaps with a different stall than stock. Here is what I am working with:
82 Jeep J10 with a 92 460-1 ton axles 38" TSL's and a 4.88 gear. The engine has a mild cam that runs out of breath at 5600 rpm with a tuneable EFI system and right now I am having the heads ported and milled.
So the way I understand it for the trails you should stick with a lower stall speed, mud a higher stall speed and all in all you need to work within your cam\engine powerband. I drive the truck to the dunes/trails and bogs so it has to hold up to freeway speeds at times. So given those facts what do you guys think would be the right converter and a good source to purchase one?

Stockers are what, 1700 or so? Beats me.
